Srinagar : The Jammu and Kashmir Police on Monday booked Sushil Pandit for tweeting fake news claiming ‘the death of five CRPF men in a militant attack in Pampore’.
Meanwhile , Police took cognizance of the matter when it observed that tweet amounts to an offence under law.
However, police has registered a case in this matter at Police Station Pampore under FIR No: 49/2018 under section 505 RPC.
While as ,Police has also directed a communication to the authorities at @Twitter India requesting them to provide the details of this particular Twitter user so that he is made to face the law.”
Questioning the Ramadhan ceasefire, Sushil Pandit a Kashmiri Pandit known for making anti-Muslims remarks, tweeted the fake news on death of five CRPF troopers.
“We have taken a serious note of this tweet and investigations have been set into motion,” said an official.
Meanwhile, Police also appealed people are requested not to pay heed to such unverifiable information and to stay away from rumor-mongering.”
