Kupwara: District Development Commissioner Kupwara Khalid Jahangir today convened a meeting regarding achieving targets under aspirational district programme for social security schemes in the meeting hall of DC Office Complex.
DDC directed all concerned to gear up efforts towards successfully achieving targets under Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana and Atal Pension Yojana within a stipulated time frame of four years.
“He directed the concerned officers to make sincere endeavours through coordination and cooperation at each and every level to realise in letter and spirit the purpose of financial inclusion and other related social security schemes for welfare and empowerment of the people of the district.”
DDC suggested that concerned departments shall constitute a group with an officer designated as nodal officer to monitor all the efforts so that the purpose of reaching out to the last person in the district and ensuring grassroots reach of the schemes is realised.
“DDC said that as an Aspirational District with dynamic nature of indices, Kupwara shall achieve progress in each and every aspect to better its ranking and thereby standards of living of its people.”
Pertinent to mention here that, launched by the Hon’ble PM in January, the ‘Transformation of Aspirational Districts’ programme aims to quickly and effectively transform districts. The broad contours of the programme are Convergence (of Central & State Schemes), Collaboration (of Central, State level ‘Prabhari’ Officers & District Collectors), and Competition among districts driven by a mass Movement. With States as the main drivers, this program will focus on the strength of each district, identify low-hanging fruits for immediate improvement, measure progress, and rank districts
